Abies concolor, White (concolor) Fir

White fir is another great Christmas tree and is know for its long lasting needle retention.  White fir tend to withstand heat and drought better than balsams.  They prefer deep, rich, well drained soils.  Will also tolerate light shade and urban conditions better than other firs.   Needles can be bluish green in color.  Pyramidal shape makes it a great choice for the holidays or landscape planting.
